A lot of neat things to see
Go if you can. Prepare to walk A LOT! Take a backpack with many waters (unless you don't mind buying them cold -there are plenty selling.) Wear SPF and a headcover/hat and comfortable shoes. Plan on having pmenty of time, don't rush! We stayed at a BW hotel up the road 30 min in Lindale Tx and saved $60! That kept us close enough to come back again the next day and cover ground we missed.
Nice people in Canton. Alot of hotels and eating establishments but zero entertainment. They need at least a movie house.
Save a few dollars to go see Jose whose family has the giant pottery concern just as you come in from I20 on the east side of the road, north of Canton Marketplace. He is a wonderful fellow and will make you a good deal ! He has BEAUTIFUL guatemaulan pottery.
Love it. Every time I go home. I always go to First Monday.
Think ahead what you want for yoyr home or gifts for the future. Look online ahead of time- some vendors are permanent and carry what you want, and you can see where they are in the town-sized park before you go. There is everything under the sun in Canton Texas!
